WILLPOWER PARENT PULSE
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 3, 2026
Last Updated: September 3, 2026
The WillPower Foundation (“WillPower,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Parent Pulse, an educational awareness tool designed to help parents and caregivers reflect on changes they may be noticing in a young person and consider appropriate next steps.
1. Our Approach to Privacy
Parent Pulse was designed with privacy in mind.
We believe parents and caregivers should be able to use the tool without creating a permanent record of sensitive responses about themselves or a young person.
Accordingly, WillPower does not intend to permanently store your individual Parent Pulse question responses or results.
Parent Pulse is not designed to create a medical record, mental health record, or clinical profile of you or the person you are thinking about.
2. Information You Provide While Using Parent Pulse
When you complete Parent Pulse, you may provide responses about behaviors, changes, concerns, or circumstances you have observed.
These responses are used to generate your Parent Pulse result and suggested next steps.
Unless otherwise clearly disclosed to you at the time of use, WillPower does not use your individual responses to:
- create a permanent personal profile;
- diagnose you or another person;
- sell information about you;
- serve targeted advertising; or
- make automated decisions about eligibility for healthcare, insurance, employment, education, credit, or other services.
3. Email My Report
If you choose an optional “Email My Report” feature, you will be asked to provide an email address so that the requested information can be delivered to you.
Information needed to generate and deliver the report may be processed and temporarily stored through WillPower's technology providers.
WillPower intends that information associated with this function be retained only for the limited period reasonably necessary to generate and deliver the report and to operate or troubleshoot the service.
We do not intend to use your Parent Pulse report or email address for marketing simply because you requested a report.
If you choose to subscribe separately to WillPower communications, that information may be maintained for that purpose.
4. Aggregate and De-Identified Information
WillPower may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand how Parent Pulse is being used, improve the tool, evaluate its effectiveness, conduct program analysis, or communicate overall trends.
For example, we might analyze how often users select particular response categories or which resources are accessed most frequently.
We do not intend to use this information to identify a particular parent, caregiver, young person, or family.
5. Website and Technical Information
Like most websites and online services, Parent Pulse and the platforms that support it may automatically process limited technical information, such as:
- browser or device type;
- IP address;
- approximate geographic region;
- operating system;
- pages or features accessed;
- date and time of access; and
- basic website performance and usage information.
We may use this information for security, troubleshooting, website functionality, and general analytics.
We do not use Parent Pulse responses for behavioral advertising.
6. Service Providers
WillPower may use trusted technology providers to host or operate Parent Pulse, send requested emails, maintain website functionality, provide security, or perform analytics.
These providers may process limited information as necessary to perform services for WillPower.
We seek to limit the information shared with service providers to what is reasonably necessary for their function.
7. We Do Not Sell Personal Information
WillPower does not sell your Parent Pulse responses or results.
We also do not provide Parent Pulse responses to advertisers for targeted advertising.
8. When Information May Be Disclosed
WillPower may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- operate Parent Pulse;
- comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or legal process;
- investigate fraud, abuse, or security threats;
- protect the rights or safety of WillPower, our users, or others; or
- work with service providers performing functions on our behalf.
9. Information About Young People
Parent Pulse is intended for parents, caregivers, and other adults, not for children to complete about themselves.
Parent Pulse is not intended to collect personal information directly any participant or child in question.
COPPA imposes specific requirements when covered online services collect personal information from children under 13, including privacy disclosures and, in many circumstances, verifiable parental consent. (Federal Trade Commission)
10. Data Security
WillPower uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed through Parent Pulse.
However, no website, email system, or electronic transmission is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Data Retention
We seek to retain identifiable information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Individual Parent Pulse responses and results are not intended to be permanently retained by WillPower.
12. Your Choices
You may choose not to use Parent Pulse or not to use optional features that request contact information.
You may also contact us with questions about information you have voluntarily provided to WillPower or to request deletion where applicable and technically feasible.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Parent Pulse evolves, our technology changes, or applicable laws change.
The most current version will be posted with the updated effective date.
